> The old lady smiles steadily. One gnarled hand steals up to rest over her
> heart and Aurora notices that the lady's rings seem to sparkle tremulously.
> "A forgotten trove," she murmurs. "Some long ago girl must have shed a tear
> or two to find she had left such a lovely gown behind . . . " The hooded
> aquamarine eyes shimmer and then the old lady laughs, tinklingly.
> "Sentimentality!" she says with a charming, self deprecating gesture. "The
> curse of old age! Quite probably the Flapper in question grew tired of the
> dress and discarded it cheerfully enough. Time passes, fashions change. One
> must move on, you know. So easy to linger in the past but it's a song that
> always ends in lament." The lady lifts one finger, smiling. "So, advice from
> an old lady? Move with the times and avoid sentimentality, dear child. That
> will keep you from getting old - up here!" She taps her temple lightly.
She watches and listens honestly and intently, Aurora always longed
for this kind of attention growing up... knowing her family... She
nods in understanding as the woman taps her temple, sometimes the
ability to touch spirits, let alone walk with them made her feel much
older than she really was.

>
> "Poor Lloyd is bored," she comments, "naughty of me to keep him waiting."
>
> "Ready whenever you are Mrs. Harrington," says Lloyd, stoic behind his
> moustache.
>
> Mrs Harrington sighs. "While my mind stays young, my bones do not. But it's
> so wonderful to see that lovely dress on such a lovely girl. Hidden in a
> basement, finally coming out into the light once again. I wonder what else
> might have lain there forgotten all these years." Mrs Harrington's smile
> glimmers again. "But that is just idle curiosity! Forgive me."
[Aurora]
She blushes at the compliment. "I hope nothing else that needs too
much attention, I'm not sure if my friend can return after she moved
out," Aurora's eyes were slowly shifting from grey to green as she
spoke to the lady. "It would be wondrous to see if there was anything
else," she agreed. "While..." Her voice seemed to have a lilt of
wishfulness in it "We shouldn't dwell on the past, knowing where we
came from can give us a better idea of where we're going."
