The old lady smiles, a small social curve of careful lipstick but her
eyes, chips of aquamarine between dramatic mascara and soft, wrinkled
eyelids, are oddly watchful.
"Perfectly preserved?" she laughs softly. "It has fared much better
than I! Might I enquire where you found such a gorgeous antique? I
may be tempted to investigate an outlet that hides such treasures
myself. For old times sake? It would be like meeting old friends,
ones you were sure had passed on. "
