Buford, St Clair, Ashlar, Gaspare

Buford met Lady Gaspare’s gaze with his own, his
thoughts and emotions unreadable beneath his horrific
and alien appearance. “My apologies for startling
you, ma’am. I’ve learned that it’s best to treat
meeting people like jumping in a pond. Best to do it
quick and get it over with.” He allowed Lady Gaspare
to reclaim her hand and turned to Ettienne’s childe.
“Ashlar,” he said, shaking the man’s hand. “Always a
pleasure.”

She smoothed her dark blue gown. “You have met
Ettienne’s childe, Ash - yes?”

Buford placed his pipe back into his mouth and took a
long drag from it. “We’ve worked together on
occasion,” he finally said, carefully directing his
smoke away from the group. He glanced between the
two, a slightly mischievous twinkle in his eye. “I
trust that Mr. Ashlar has been keeping you out of
trouble?”

Alessandra found it nearly impossible to relinquish
physical contact with Ash and made no attempt to do so
now, even in the presence of Ettienne and the Colonel.
The Scottish Toreador’s vitae newly blended with her
own, binding them in a way that was far beyond the
physical and emotional attraction she’d already felt
for him. The bond was obvious to anyone who had even
the slightest sense of such things, and the Tzimisce
made no attempt at discretion. Her slender arm
wrapped around Ash’s waist, she smiled at the
Nosferatu.

“Oh, I am certain that ‘trouble’ has been the last
thing on our minds, sir.” If there was another
meaning to this statement, well, let others interpret
it as they will. “Pray, tell me, what is your line of
work...or interest, Colonel Buford? You have worked
together before, you say?”

(tags all around, gentlemen)
