The Harlequin's

>The main area of the club was indeed rather sparse.
Less noisy, no singer on stage, more empty tables than
occupied ones. At the bar there were three distinct
groups. Mostly female. First two ladies being
deliberatly inconspicuous at the end. A Blonde and a
Brunette interested more in thier own drinks that the
surroundings. Then two young ladies, one with a
guitar, were talking animatedely. Finally, a dark
haired woman at the far end was bent over in
conversation with a Black man.

This night, Giger notes, seemed far more subdued than
the last. They are greeted at the door, certainly,
but allowed to seat themselves. And there were more
than enough places to sit. Giger opts for a table
with a strategic vantage that allowed a view of both
the bar and some of the tables, including that of the
Harlequin's.

>The Harlequin was no harder to spot than one
expected. sat at a table talking to his maitra de,
Israel, Giger was reminded. They seemed to be
discussing business, the Harelquin himself staring
intently into space while his mortal retainer layed
out something in detail.

Giger opts to heighten his hearing, to try to catch a
snippet of the great man's conversation, or more
accurately, the monologue he was listening to. But
even so, he is alert enough to catch the eye of a
passing waitress and order drinks. Pinot Noir for
him, and a glass of Guiness for the lady.

The lady had unusual taste, but then, she herself was
quite unusual. But in her day, beer was a drink for
both commoners and nobility.

Giger then turns his attention to the groups at the
bar. They too, were unusual, perhaps even worthy of
testing their auras.
