Hope begins with the purely mundane. "So, I already ordered us a pie. And you ordered the beer. You sure ya never worked the 18th in Chicago?" 

"Tell you the Truth Hope, I never been out of the state since I was still at school." He shrugs with a warm smile.

Hope continues. "See, there's a tradition at the 18th when you get a new partner. The two go out and order a pie and beer, then you spend some time talking off the clock and off the record. You and me, we definitely need to talk. Starting with Akril." 

"Sounds like a pretty good tradition." he says, seemingly much more relaxed than usual. "I seem to rememebr they do something similar here. At least they used to last time I was put with an actual partner rather than a babysitter or a part timer wanted to pick my brains about the gangs."

The beers arrive and he put down his empty glass to take up his bottle.

"I guess Akril would be a good place to start. What do you want to know exactly?"
