Stephen considers the question for a moment and grins, waiving down a  
waitress so that he can order another drink. "I've never really spent  
any time considering the actual *purpose* of a party--what do you  
think?"

His eyes scan the room for Damien Carter, to whom he is obliged to  
introduce himself at some point during the evening. When the waitress  
arrives he asks the others if they'd like anything, and proceeds to  
order another Grey Goose martini: straight up, extra dry. The first  
one put him in a good mood, the second will make him just a bit  
fuzzy. A third... well, let's hope he doesn't go in that direction.

"Oh, I'd be tempted to say they are for seeing people and being seen mostly. A Chance to put on that outfit you really shouldn't have spent the rent check on and letting go your inhibitions with the help of booze, B.S. and bravado. Perhaps catch someones eye and flirt a little, if the mood takes you and see where it goes from there."

She winked over statedly at Nekos.
