Pritchel puts down his drink at a nearby table, and takes a long puff from his cigar.  He walks back up to Malone, standing less than a foot from him, without removing his cigar this time.  "And just what Oath was so important that you couldn't do the honourable thing?" 

The bar goes quet. Not just because the majority of the people had left or were on the way out. But because two sturdy guys were face to face and talking in direct voices.

Malone stiffens even more.

"As the sun guards the earth by day, as the stars by night, so shall I guard those who look to my house. Each Fae that follows the escheat shalt sleep sound in their beds and labour without harm in their feilds, for I will not waver. As the Arm and the valour of my lord, I shall stand between the fae of this Domain and all who mean them harm. Whether my charge be High born or low, my lord or my vassal, Noble or common fae, I shall not shirk my duty to keep them from malice or predator. Else my might be rent from me and the sun turn his face from me. No other hand than my Lords shall be turned against them in peace or in war, that they shall be free to be as they were wont to be."
