Leaving the Harlequin

Giger leads Elizabeth out of the club.  He had chosen
poorly this time, and gained nothing from returning to
the Harlequin a second time.   

The hour was growing late.  They had to return to the
Chantry, and he would have to content himself with
either cold blood or one of the Chantry's servants for
his evening meal.  

Giger keeps the car's speed hovering within five miles
of the speed limit, and is careful to stop at every
light.  The drive back to the Chantry takes only a
matter of minutes.  

The Chantry was mostly dark, so Giger is able to pull
the car into the garage.  He shuts off the engine and
then once again, leaves the keys where he had found
them.  He walks around to the passenger side, and
helps Elizabeth from the car, watching her descend
from it with grace.  
 
Entering the Chantry proper, Giger activates his
heightened sense of hearing as he walks past
Montenegro's door.  Fortunately, he hears nothing,
which meant that either he wasn't in his room, or he
wasn't here.  He was hoping for the latter.
