see if you can start the computer in Safe Mode.  Hold down the F8 key during
startup (from the minute you power it on thru to the screen where you can
select Safe Mode) and once you get to the screen that lets you choose,
select Safe Mode.  You won't be able to do much, but this will let me know
if you can start the Windows system at all.
