The Troll tensed. His nostrils flared.

 "That it does!" he said with a deep growl. "And me and Jaywick too for that
matter. We Broke an Oath to the House in order to keep our Oath to the
Kith."

Pritchel puts down his drink at a nearby table, and takes a long puff from
his cigar.  He walks back up to Malone, standing less than a foot from him,
without removing his cigar this time.  "And just what Oath was so important
that you couldn't do the honourable thing?"
