Jack's heart is still beating rapidly, more from fear
of being out of his element and in the company of
strangers. He takes his drink in two swift gulps, then
scans around for the waiter, managing to make off with
another glass before the man can slip off into the
crowd.
The second - and, within moments, empty - glass is
still in Jack's hand as the effects of the alcohol
begin to settle his nerves. He lights up another
cigarette and moves further into the main room,
looking for familiar faces - specifically, Aurora or
Mara.
