> Coming up the stairs is the Sidhe. His arm out in front of him with the

She sat next to Booker momentarily she tried to rid herself of the
ridiculousness that was this particular shidhe. She already knew enough about the guy to
be weary. The other night at the funfair or whatever they called it here they
had told her enough. She looked at Jaywick working behind the bar then to
Malone. She wanted signs from them. She knew what had transpired at the door
before Mordraine was let in even if most of the bar didn't. She had the privilege
of seeing those things. She wanted to look to Raindog again but knew she
couldn't just yet. She had to allow the room to adjust again, to allow the glamour
to shift into some sort of balance again no matter how teetering before she
could look at him again. She had to be in control of herself. She didn't care
what she was supposed to do according to the rest of her kind. She was not going
to allow this guy to make her into some blithering idiot, fucking yes-man. It
wasn't right anyway. Raindog was the one that should cause that sort of awe,
all though knowing how people reacted to such arrogance... It just wouldn't be
the same but that aside he deserved the attention and admiration this other
guy... well from what she knew he certainly didn't. She also had to release
these thoughts at this very moment because she knew that she had no reason to
treat the man poorly despite what she thought of him. She was glad to have a
moment but then she overheard him speaking to Raindog.
>
> "Lord .... No, sorry, it's Raindog now isn't it? I wouldn't want you to
> mistake my reverence for an insult." Though he talks to Raindog, his eyes are
> fixed on Arine. "Forgive my coming here unannounced but I simply had to meet
> your newest waif, and hear for myself if the rumours were true. Perhaps I could
> trouble you to introduce us?"
>
She swallowed hard, more of a repression of frustration than anything else,
as her eyes looked at Booker. She didn't move her head so that she wouldn't be
seen but Booker could see she really didn't want to talk to this guy.
"Play me something fast."
that had a double meaning. She wanted a little more time. She knew the
meeting was inivitable but it was postponable. She also meant something that swang
like "Oh, Lady Be Good," or "Bei Mir Bist Du Schon," even "Sing, Sing, Sing."
She'd probably chose the second but would even be happy with the third at this
point, just a little more time.
