[Christine]
Christine casts a startled glance at Aurora then double takes
Mitsuko's self unfastening clothes.

"What the f . . .?" Christine mutters but, seeing Aurora's
determinedly calm expression, decides to button it. Try not to act
like a tourist, Christine, she admonishes herself. Past time that you
got a grip on the flip side of reality. It's, like, hello? Where you
*live* these days.

"Okay, then," Christine says, brightly. "See you outside." She turns
to Aurora. "Shall we?" She smiles, tentatively at the Dreamspeaker
and, as it seems to be expected, leads the way. She's only spent 24
hours here in actual fact and as she spent most of last night curled
inside a vodka bottle and quite a lot of today limply hungover and
face down on her bed, Christine's Temple geography is a bit
haphazard. Finally, they do make it out into the grounds and through
the front gate.

Christine shivers as the October night air bites and she immediately
scans for Mara. Across the street, an elegant, feminine form in
silhouette leans over a fallen victim. Christine blinks as the woman
in black looks directly at her. It's Mara, of course, but who she is
with and what she is doing . . . Christine hurries toward her former
Domitor, temporarily oblivious to Aurora.

As Christine draws close enough to see Mara clearly, and note the
cell phone, she also clocks the 'victim' - bandages, pallor, sickness
and all. It isn't what she feared but it does look like a problem.

"Hey," she says, her eyes still on the broken man in the street. "You
okay? What happened?"
