>Jaleel just let out a 'pfft', then mumbled: "Shoot random strangers at
>O'Tolly's, my ass. I would torch that place. Burgers shitty there." He
>looked at one of the creeps. "Really. Should always go to MacFluffy's.
>Much better."

"That's why we'd never shoot at MacFluffy's my man," the talkative creep replied with a grin "don't want to kill the people what serve the Fluff-pounder deluxe!! But the folk's at O'Tolly's? Best they can do is catch a few bullets if you ask me. Hate them Fries!"

>Dédé slowly got out of the van, too. His cold stare never left the
>creeps around their wheelie.

>"You can watch the rest if you all want?"

>Antoine nodded. "Jaleel, keep an eye on the van, will you?" He looked at
>the other two, who slowly came to stand beside him. "Shall we? Lead on
>to the jaws of death." He said to Old Gogglies.

The Strangely dressed trio led the Children into the Pumping stations bowels, past huge pistons and around the edge of a huge pit by way of a suspended walkway. Deep below, where there had once been a reservoir of River water to pump, there was now a dry lightless pit. the sounds that escaped from this abyss were inhuman and obscene, if pigs they were, the Children began to doubt if they wanted to see them.

Gogglies bent down on the lip of the pit and slapped the once elaborately decorated sides. Flakes of the black and gold tiles fell away as dust as he did so but the noises from below rose in response.

"That's right my lil darlin's" he called down. "Pappy got some din din's, yes he has!" The mans baby talk brought a look of undisguised mirth to Onitt's face. He'd really seen it all now.

The other two were busy attaching the wheelie bin to a harness and then began to tug on the chains that hoisted it into the air and over the pit. As Antione peered over the edge he was sure he saw small points of light, white discs that might be eyes, but with no pupils or colours.

Gogglies raised a hand and the two men at the chains began pulling at a different mechanism and the bin up-ended and deposited its gruesome cargo intot he inky blackness.

Whatever the eyes belonged to fell upon the feast with a gluttonous frenzy.

"Never hurts to keep them hungry" Gogglies said by way of explanation. "Sharpens the appetite!"

[And suddenly the world went TAG]
