When Matt and Selena arrive John offers each of them a
drink and explains the situation. "The party is high
class, invitation only, but it looks like the doormen
are sloppy about checking. All it'll take are the
right clothes and the right attitude, and we should
have no problem getting in the front door."
He looks at all three of them. "I'm hoping that some
of my more respectable clients will be there to smooth
over any problems, but it might be good to warn
everyone that there will be some people there who
aren't . . . nice." He was being a bit liberal with
the term people, but he wasn't sure how much Selena
and Shelli knew.
"Let's try to avoid fatalities." He seemed to be
speaking to Abby and Matt. The latter simply laughed
and winked.
-------------------
The trip to the Sinclair party was short. They parked
half a block away and took a moment to watch people
going in and out.
John removed a whistle from his pockets and gave two
sharp, short blows. After a moment a large black crow
with white markings on its chest (an eye) came to
perch on his outstretch arm.
"Everyone, this is Bob. Bob, this is everyone." The
bird seemed to bow his head a cawed several times in
greating. It showed absolutely no fear to Abby, and
almost seemed oblivious to her presence.
(OOC: I'm not sure how birds would normally react
around a Bastet, but this one is artifical, a Ushabti
(Level 4))
"Stay close to the party, and patrol the nearby areas
maybe once an hour. I'll whistle if I need you. If
you don't hear from me by sunrise, return to the
store."
The bird gave a sharp caw, indicating it understood,
and launched into the air. In seconds it was gone.
"Shall we?"

"I swear, as God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly."
