Pooka and Piano man
Raindogs
> The clapping and cheers for the singers first song die down slowly, Arine's
> impromptu numbers and individual renditions were already becoming the talk
> of the area and the place was liable to get much busier if Friday was any
> indication.
>
> The tall Sidhe treated her to a smile, almost warm for him. Pouring himself
> another Bourbon from the bottle and then raising it to her in a toast.
> Booker's fingers continued to dance across the ivories and his Louis Armstrong
> voice filled the silence with a scat style vocalisation. Slowly his playing found
> its own way to a tune and he began to sing.
>
> "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone.
> It's not warm when she's away.
> Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
> And she's always gone too long anytime she goes away. "
>
> > "So Mr.Tall, Dark and Mysterious, you and your
> > friend in that sharp jacket got dates then."
>
> >John smiled and glanced at Matt, raising his glass in
> >toast. "I need to step out for a moment. If you
> >ladies will join us, I'll be right back."
>
> >He quickly excused himself and stepped outside the bar
> >and around the corner.
>
> "Wonder this time where she's gone,
> Wonder if she's gone to stay
> Ain't no sunshine when she's gone
> And this house just ain't no home anytime she goes away. "
>
> "Sooo" the one named Matt said as John slipped away. "Seems almost rude to
> show up at a party without being in the right frame of mind. Did somebody
> mention shots?"
>
> The male voice wrapped the words and tune into a mixture of morning and joy,
> wringing an amused accapella from the Jazzed up interpretation and then
> playing the keys freestyle between the verses.
>
> "And I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
> I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
> I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know,
> I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know"
>
> By the time John returns, Matt has lined up tequila shots for everyone.
>
> >"Sorry. Just getting a little heads up, make sure all
> >goes well." He smiled and took a sip of his drink.
> >"I'm sure there will be music. What else do you girls
> >like?"
>
>

She set back and let Booker run with the song towards the end she opened her
violin case still leaving the instrument inside. At the very end of the song
but before the music would stop she leaned on the piano smilling at Booker,
"Let's do God Bless the Child."
She nodded then tapped the top of the piano and turned around. She waited for
Booker to bring this new song in before slowly, even slower then Booker was
playing but she was careful to make certain beats within the rythym of the
lyrics hit his so that it all still worked out very nicely together.
"Que tienen conseguirán.
Que no tienen perderán.
Mama puede tener, Papa puede tener
Pero el dios bendice a niño que tiene su el propio
Que tiene sus el propios"
She let the room be surrounded by the words, by the sadness and anger of the
realism of the song even if she were no longer singing in english. She took
out her violin and began to play a empassioned plea simple at first but building
to something much more complex leaving plenty of room for Booker's work to
slip in and out of hers. She kept building and building, just before the great
climax,
"Dinero, usted tiene porciones de amigos
que aprietan alrededor de lapuerta.
Cuando le van, pasando extremos no vienen no más.
Lasrelaciones ricas dan la corteza del pan y de tal.
Usted puede ayudarsepero no toma demasiado.
mama puede tener, papa puede tener.
Pero eldios bendice a niño que tiene sus el propios.
Eso tiene sus elpropios."
She was even playing with the order of the words on this one. She really was
fearless when it came to these things. She figured if she fell flat on her
face she'd know what not to do the next time.
She brought her violin back in this time playing with a bit of steccato,
juxtaposing all that came before. She kept playing along with Booker. Her hips
swaying she slowly turned all the way around smilling at Booker as she went past
him.
"Sí, el fuerte consigue más mientras que se descoloran los débiles.
Los bolsillos vacíos no hacen siempre el grado.
mama puede tener,papa puede tener.
Pero el dios bendice a niño que tiene sus elpropios.
Eso tiene sus el propios."
Again she let the lead go back to Booker, slidding in and out of play with
him as she continued to sing, not so much a scat but instead beautifully
sustained notes as her fingers slid accross the strings of her violin.
"Pero dios bendice a niño que tiene sus elpropios.
Eso tiene sus el propios.
Pero dios bendice a niño que tiene sus elpropios.
Eso tiene sus el propios.
Dios bendice a niño."

(OOC: As always please ignore the fact that I'm no where near fluent in
Spanish and therefor have inevidably fucked that whole thing up. So, yeah, Ariñe of
course didn't. She's absolutely fluent, spanish being her first language and
what-not. Also, sorry it took me a little while to get this out. We started
filming this last weekend and then I took an unexpected but needed little trip
at the beginning of this week, just got home this evening..)
