"The lady is Mara Ravenclaw," Christine says after a pause. "She is  my . . ." Christine hesitates because she really doesn't know what to fill the blank with. Until a couple of days ago, Mara was the centre of her whole life on every level. "She is a lawyer, a good one. A crusader, fighting for the vulnerable and the abused. She's also a vampire," Christine flickers a glance at Aurora. She really ought  to have mentioned that before, she realises but, well, she didn't. "I belonged to her up until yesterday . . . the day before yesterday. I was her, y'know, minion. Ghoul."

Christine isn't sure if she needs to add anything else. She could say much more but most of it is personal and private. 

"Oh!" Mitsuko says with a shrug and returns to fastening the shoes. It seems as though the explanation is perfectly satisfactory tot he young lady. Sitting back she takes in the shoes, the whole ensemble. "They really work, you look great!"
