John considers a moment, the story and costume and
setting he had created for himself. The truth? That
would go over well: he's a 2000 year old Hebrew who
earned his Roman citizenship in the Legions. His
sister was murdered and the killer was pardoned. He
was granted eternal life the day after the murderer
was suppose to die and the day the King of the Jews
died instead.

He doubted it would go well.
   
  (OOC- Does Abby see any sign of his doubt?}

"I was born in Spain. Parents worked for the embassy.
Sounds more glamorous than it really was. My father
was security my mother a secretary. Travelled the
world, learned a lot of neat things, then came to
Gotham and met up with Mike."

John frowned for a moment. "I'm not quite sure how. 
I don't own him and he doesn't own me. We're sort of
roommates, only he doesn't pay any rent. You may have
noticed he's a little . . . off. He seems to have a
knack for being in the wrong place at the right time."
   
  Both girls smile at this.

John laughed softly. "So now I own and run this
place, an occult books and supplies. I offer classes
on magic, lectures on unusual topics, and I supply
most of the magicians in Gotham."

He offered his glass up in a salute and took a drink.
   
  "Magic, no shit? That's cool. Explain's the coffin."  Shelli nods and  takes another sip.
   
  "I seen a few things while traveling." Abby's reaction is quieter. Some of the memories she could do without. She looks him in the eye, trusting her instincts.
  "I bet you're good teacher at that." She smiles a bit. "Mike likes you well enough and I bet thats rare." She finishes the drink, unconsciously licking the last drop from the brim. "So now we've done our introductions, what can you tell us of this party we're to crash?"
