Connolly hung up the phone.  He was a bit surprised
that Mr. Cash had called, on his desk was the file on
the park killing and Mr. Cash's name appeared on a
couple of the tips, all with yesterday's date on them.
 A uniformed officer stopped by the desk and handed
him a piece of paper, scrawled on it was a long
distance phone number, "This is the number that you
were called from" the note said.  Scribbling, 'Joshua
Cash' on the top of the note, he thrust it into the
file.

Sitting back, he thought about the conversation and
Mr. Cash.  The conversation was a bit strained, but
that was to be expected, if you were a person of
interest in a murder investigation, you tended to be
nervous when speaking to the police.  Connolly heard a
trace of a southern accent, and a hardness, in the
voice - he would have to keep that in mind when Mr.
Cash showed up.

He pulled the note out of the file again, pulling the
phone book from the desk drawer, he turned to the area
code listing, the number was North Carolina - probably
a cell phone - he made a note to have the number
checked after he spoke to Cash.

He opened the file and started reading the witness
statements, looking for anything that was said about
Mr. Cash that could be useful when talking to him,
writing notes on the pad on the left side of the file.
