"Oooh Shoes!" the Daughter squealed. "I have shoes. All sorts of shoes. Did you know there are hundreds of shops selling just shoes in Gotham? Even one where they make you coffee while you shop!" The girl's enthusiasm was infectious, and also loud. Down the corridor the sound of rice doors being opened slightly can be heard.
