John smiled and glanced at Matt, raising his glass in
toast.  "I need to step out for a moment.  If you
ladies will join us, I'll be right back."

He quickly excused himself and stepped outside the bar
and around the corner.  Reaching into the pocket, he
took the Ushabti (level 4) of a crow out and whsipered
to it in Latin.  He blinked, and perched on his arm
was a large, black crow with white markings on its
chest shaped like an eye.

"I need you to go hang out at the Sinclair's.  Try to
perch someplace where you can get a good look at the
people.  I'll whistle if I need you."

He raised his arm and "Bob" took off into the night. 
After a moment, he closed his eyes to watch the city
pass beneath the crow as it flew.  Satisfied, he
returned to the party.

"Sorry.  Just getting a little heads up, make sure all
goes well."  He smiled and took a sip of his drink. 
"I'm sure there will be music.  What else do you girls
like?"
