> After a couple minutes of Christine fretting there was a light wrap  
> on her door.


The door to Christine's room swings open. Her jacket is thrown on the  
narrow bed roll but there is no other sign of Christine. Listening  
carefully in the corridor, two voices can be heard talking, both  
female, not far away. There is a sudden spurt of laughter and a  "I  
can't wear this! I look like Ronald MacDonald in drag!" and more  
giggling. It's definitely Christine; her West Coast accent contrasts  
against the other speaker's pure Gotham.

The conversation seems to be happening behind a door that is half  
ajar. The panels of the door and the surrounding walls are made of  
dark wood and are carved ornately with curling  dragons and lotus  
flowers. These quarters do not look like the simple paper-walled  
'cells' of the Temples initiates and acolytes. Much larger, probably  
a suite of rooms and possibly belonging to someone who is highly  
revered.

Glimpsed through the half open door, Christine wanders into view,  
some long and gaudy garment partially unzipped and flapping about her  
as she attempts to extricate herself from its loud clutches. "Help!"  
she yelps, trying to turn to squint at the zip that is caught. There  
is another giggle and then the other speaker comes to her aid. A  
beautiful oriental girl, with long coiling blue-black hair, dressed  
in black pvc shorts, a black lycra tank top with thigh length pirate  
stockings one purple and black stripes the other green and black. She  
is also wearing a gorgeous, long fringed, silk shawl printed with an  
irridescent green and purple peacock feather design on a black  
background, draped carelessly over her elbows.
