Somewhere in the distance a shot rang out. Too far away to be of real concern but it drew Mara's attention into sharp focus none the less. She sees a middle-aged man in orange robes (worn over more usual Gotham evening wear of jeans and sports jacket) come around the Temple carrying an empty basin. A piece of potato peel clinging unseen by him to the bottom. he glances at Mara for a moment and nods but then carries on without a word. Entering the building by the same door Christine took.

Inside, Christine finds the place quiet and subdued. A few of the Monks were seeing to their chores but otherwise most of them appear to have retired to their rooms. The soft glow of candles casting silhouettes on the rice paper doors. 

The sound of A motorbike passes two streets over, it high powered engine lifting its presence above the dull roar of traffic. A few moments later it can be heard leaving the Chinatown borough.
