[Mara Ravenclaw]

Friday, and sunset comes a little earlier than the night before.   Mara’d never really appreciated the approach of winter until she became Kindred.   Of course, in Seattle, there were only two seasons:  Rainy and not so rainy.  Mara pulls herself from off the floor and starts to get dressed.   For now, she would leave the blazer unbuttoned for the meeting with Gruber.  She would button it when hunting for furniture.  Salesmen tended to like you better when you were well dressed instead of looking like a homeless bum.   Though there were a few wealthy people who she knew that dressed far below their station so as not to draw attention to themselves.  She was one of them.  

Mara puts her makeup on carefully, leaving the lipstick until last.  She wanted to go out and grab a bite, but it would have to wait until after she was done with Gruber.  Of course, she could just make him her meal, but he might take offense to it.  Or she’d have to kill him, and then she’d have to start looking for a new security firm.  And that would be a major pain in the ass.   

The door bell rings promptly at six.   Mara smiles.  She always liked a man that was punctual.   Mara puts on her best smile and opens the door, allowing the older man to enter.   “Mr. Gruber?” She asks, and receives a nod in reply.   “I’m Mara Ravenclaw.  It’s nice to finally meet you.”  Mara does not offer him her hand.  “So, shall we get started?”   Mara already had a pretty good idea of what sorts of security measures she wanted in place; they were much the same as the ones she had in Seattle.  Why mess with a system that worked?  

Mara escorts Gruber in.  He looks around the place, walking around.  Where was Christine, her assistant?  He wonders, but doesn't ask.  Instead he sticks to business.  “I assume, Ms. Ravenclaw, you have some idea as to what you want?”
