“That’s sweet of you. I just want to play tourist,
  see their faces you know. I probably been close to
some already. There’re a couple of guys that visit
the bar and never touch their drinks that I can see.
They tip ok though, for all their lean and hungry
looks.”
Her laugh is louder now. She looks about as well,
under her lashes.

John nodded, the smile on his face masking a little
concern. On average, when he met a vamp it was just
before he dusted them. On occasion, when one
demonstrated usefulness, he might allow it to live. 
Such was the case of Titus Bane. Killing the new Kahn
would have created chaos in Chinatown, something that
Exquisite Woo had warned against. Besides, he'd held
up his end of their bargain.

"Alright, we'll go and check them out."

   
  Abby looks at him sidelong. She may or may not see his discomfort (alertness 3 empathy 3) but she hasn’t missed his use of the ‘leech’ word.
  “I’m not certain they were for sure, but they been nothing but on their best behavior. I stayed away from them anyway for fear they’d  notice that I’m’ somewhat more than just another Stripper. Enough time on the Street and you get smarter or you get dead.” Her smile fades, she looks at once far younger and more vulnerable than he’s seen yet.
