John Black, Abby, Dr. Lazarus, Sandra Scoland
Very Old Man, Bastet, Enlightened Scientist, and Bastet
Lady Sinclaire's Mansion
"Shall we?" Hiram asked offering a hand to 'Sandra' with the intention of
dancing as he put the small object back in his pocket, which strangely
didn't dampen the music.
"I would be honored, Doctor," she says taking one more quick sip from her
champagne glass before turning to John and handing it to him. "Would you
mind holding this for me?" she asks him with a wry grin. With her hands
free, she turns to take Dr. Lazarus's offered hand as he escorts her to the
nearest open area that would work as an impromptu dance floor as she stepped
in time to the beat of the music. (Dex 3 + Performance 2)
Hiram pushed his chair around clumsily with one hand as 'Sandra' and he danced.
"So, Miss Scoland," he said as he nudged one of the large wheels at his
side, causing the chair to jog to his right, sending him into a twirl,
"other than my obvious talent for dance, what has brought you to me in this
particular venue? Is there something you wished to discuss that was not
proper for the museum?"
[Sandra]
"Now Doctor," she says with her own twirl to the beat of the music, "this is not the time to mix business with pleasure." She shimmys her shoulders forward in time with music and says in a sultry voice... "And certainly not in such a public forum."
After a few more measures and steps, as the current song comes to an end, she says "However, if you are willing to get me another drink, I might be pursuaded to talk a little historical 'shop talk' with you. I would love to pick your brain about some pieces I've been researching recently that I think perhaps you might be familiar with."
Sandra turns to see Abby and John talking in hush hush tones to each other over to the side, and has a difficult time tempering her curiosity about her newfound feline sister. Smiling politely in passing at them, she strained her ears to overhear their subdued conversation as she and Dr. Lazarus exited the impromptu dance floor.
(Perception 2 + Stealth1/Alertness1)
Damn it, she thought to herself. To many people for me to eaves drop. I can't hear enough to make out what they are saying. She could at least tell by their body language and the general looks in her direction that she was quite possibly a part of the topic of conversation. And the more she saw of her feline sister, and the enigmatic bookstore owner, the more curious she was becoming... and it was bugging the hell out of her! It was like an itch she couldn't scratch. If there was one thing she couldn't stand it was knowing she was being talked about and not knowing what is being said. Still, she was hesitant to jump to any conclusions till she learned more. It had been her experience that assumptions get one in trouble. Definantly, at some point this evening, though, she would have to sit down with her feline sister and learn more about her, but in the meantime... First things first, she reminded herself. "Shall we, Doctor?" she smiles.
~Taggity to the Doctor and the cute couple in the back row! :)
