It was curious, and John wondered if other felines

were like this as well. He experiences with shifters

were limited, but he knew they tended to have quirks

which could set them apart from normal humans.

 

"What about the doctor's colleague? Is she like

you?"

 

Abby nestles her cheek against the Undying's

Chest, considering her answer.

"Maybe and maybe not, John Black. Are you like Dr.

Lazarus?" She looks up at him, her eyes more green

than black now. "We're not by any means one big,

happy family you know."

 

John was silent a moment as they danced and he

considered his answer.  "The doctor and I are not

anything alike.  A few similarities, perhaps, but

nothing more."

 

"I can tell Sandra's not a mundane human, but not much

more.  I can spot a leech, er . . . vampire easily

enough and sometimes I can identify a shifter or spell

caster, but not always.  Which is she?"

 
  “Ok then. Sure she’s Shifter, a Feline Sister if you will. You know we got differing tribes?  And lots of us fight like
well you can guess.” Her laughter is soft and throaty. “So while she is a Cat, she may or may not be just like me. Or even like me for that matter. And, truth be told, Cats are all about secrets y’know.”
   
  Her smile is full and bright, her teeth sparkling white.
   
  “And you Sir, area good dancer.”
   
  Tagging along as John leads.
