Temple of the Five Dragons
Mitsuko, Jack, Mara, Aurora, Christine
Avatar, Enigma, Vampire, Mages

There it is again - fear. Palpable, constant fear.
Jack’'s senses are minutely tuned to this
emotion.
It'’s consumed him, ruled him, and kept him in
line.
Fear once wove itself into his being and now he passes
it on like a disease. Insidious, oppressive –
triggered by a raised fist, an angry threat, a
darkened room, an unknown entity. Jack had learned
how to cower within the first few minutes of his
creation. 'I can unmake you!'’ was Akril's most
potent
means of controlling him and Jack never doubted the
Khan’'s ability to do it. Fear was always the
best
motivator.

It’s with some discomfort that Jack senses
Christine'’s
apprehension. Maybe a lie would have been better. He
could have passed himself off as a bum, attacked by
thugs, and taken his chances that he’'d have
survived
long enough to make it to a hospital. No way to undo
it now. They are afraid and they haven'’t even
scratched the surface of what he is or what he'’s
done.

Despite their fear, Aurora and Christine seem
determined to press on. Jack feels an amazing energy
from both women, now combining into one stream.
It’'s
strong - maybe more so than they know - and the
current begins to thrum in tandem with the heartbeat
of the Temple. While it comforts his being, Jack
feels his physical self continue to slowly fade.

“"The spirit is willing...but the flesh is
weak.”" Jack
whispers to Aurora and Christine. It’'s followed
by a
weak chuckle. "“It never...ceases to amaze me
how...easily damaged we are. I am...such a wuss..."

He licks his parched lips. "You’'re both...so
strong.
But I can'’t take from you...what will only go to
waste."”

(tag, ladies)
