  As they spoke, John noticed Matt in the corner of his eye. The gregarious trickster and the two lovely ladies had started up a conversation with he seven people in the next room. From here it looked like a parlour of some sort with fine furnishings and a small table with buffet treats in one corner. The group already gathered their were an odd mix, four of the five men impeccably dressed in expensive suits while the fifth looked somewhat dishevelled and slovenly even in what had once been an equally fine piece. Of the two women, one was a power dresser with severe glasses and tight pinstripes while the other was rather buxom and her power suite hung open to reveal a lacy Basque beneath. Stylish but much more wanton than her fellows.
   
  The Giant Fabio looking guy who seemed to dominate the group was the only one not fully engaged by Matt's silver tongued fast talk, something John had seen used to devastating effect on everyone from Palace guards to London Peelers. The hulk stared at the back of Dr Lazarus head with a smirk while Matt delivered his punchline with aplomb and had the whole room lost to laughter.
   
  Abby hears the laughter and look back over her shoulder at the crowd.
  Must've been a good one. Good, the girls are havin fun then.
  Then she notes the one person in the group who's not laughing.
  Brrrrrrrr.  Scary Bastard, I don't want to know what'd make that one laugh!
  Her hand tightens on John's arm.
