John just smiled.  "Once upon a time I might have been
a regular at these events, but nowadays I prefer
tending my store, helping customers, and so on.  A
friend of mine is in town and I want to show him a
good time, and here we are."

He glanced at Abby.  "I have to say, I wasn't
expecting to have as much fun as I am."  He returned
his attention to the doctor and Sesostris.  "I take
when you speak of common interest you're refering to
ancient Egypt.  The doctor and I earlier were
discussing ancient history, though I tend to favor the
Roman Empire.  One of my most prized possessions is a
citizenship diploma earned by an ancient Roman, having
served in the Legions."
