John, Abby, Dr. Lazarus, Sanura Sesostris
Lady Sinclaire's Mansion
[Sanura]
..."Sandra Scoland. It is an honor to finally meet you. Your reputation in
the field of egyptology is almost legendary. I have been a fan of your
research for sometime now... since your days with Dr. Tweaksbury as a matter
of fact. I was hoping to see you at the museum at some point, but it seems
good fortune smiled upon me and brought you here instead."
[Hiram]
Hiram gave a more genuine smile as he grabbed at a flute of champagne from a
passing tray, nearly spilling it all before the server stopped, looking
rather annoyed. After the man bent to allow Hiram better access to the tray,
Hiram took two glasses and handed it to 'Sandra'.
[Sanura]
"Thank you.." she says graciously accepting the glass.
[Hiram]
"I'm nowhere near as good as Reg was," he said, reffering to his late
mentor, Dr. Tewkesbury, "he's the reason I have so much to work with." He
too a sip of his champagne. "So tell me, Sandra, are you in the field as well?"
[Sanura]
"Yes, I am," she says. "I work more as a broker though. An independant consultant for individuals and private companies if you will. Appraisals, import/export transactions, intermediary representation and the like. I've had the privelage of being present on one or two archeology digs, but I enjoy learning the history more than I do digging in the dirt," she smiles.
"How did you and Dr. Tweaksbury meet? It's one thing to read about the man, but it's another to hear about him from someone who got to work so closely with him. What was he like?"
The man in the wheelchair is the first to light up in John's senses. He flickers with some sort of energy from within. As does the lady he is chatting to. The scent from this couple is strong, or the scent from the lady in truth. Abby recognises the clues of one of her own. The Moon in the blood, the feline perfume, the hint of perfect grace and self assured curiosity.
[Abby]
She peers over the rim of her glass. The big guy in tux stands out. Noooo, she's curious but something in deep inside does not like his look. She really doesn't want to meet his eye, not while she is still off balance. The Shadow folk on the stairs maybe? No, they've too much a commanding position, too hard to sidle up to them.
Then she looks back to the other felid and her companion. "You know what they say about us and curiousity? Glady, I never listened to such tales." Her green eyes sparkle at that. "Who's the Gent in the Chair, the one so under the spell of that Dark Charmer?"
She cuts her eyes to the Man in the wheelchair. "D'you know either of them?"
[John]
"The man in the wheel chair is named Dr. Lazarus. He's a curator at the museum, Egyptology I think is the term. Met him this afternoon. Would you care to wander over?"
[Abby]
"Sure love, that'd be nice." And I get a chance to find out what SHE wants as well. Abby's smile is deceptively soft.
[John]
John offered his arm and escorted Abby over to the doctor and his companion.
[Abby]
"I hope we're not interupting, but as soon as I saw you were here," to Dr. Lazarus, "I thought I would come over and say hello. I don't think we got to finish our conversation."
Abby smiles brightly at the Doctor and his Companion.
[Sanura]
(OOC: Perception 2 + Awareness 1/Primal Urge 2? Which would be more appropriate to see if she recognizes Abby for what she truely is?)
"No, no... please," she says to the new arrivals stepping courteously to the side for easier communication... and to get better look at you, my dear, she thinks to herself looking intently at Abby.
"Dr. Lazarus and I were just talking about... common interests," she says as she takes another sip of her champagne. She waits for Dr. Lazarus to make introductions to the new guests seeing as how they evidently know him.
There's the Tag you know and the Tag you don't... :)
