The door flew open behind Simon and a figure strode in
like he owned the place. From his animalistic
features, Cash knew he was Gangrel, like him. "Leave
us," he peremptorily said to Simon. "But," Simon
started to complain, but a warning glance from the new
arrival silenced him, and he slumped out of the room.
"I presume you don't know who I am?" he asked. Cash
shook his head, saving his strength for the up coming
encounter with the Prince. "I am Thomas, the Gangrel
Primogen in Phoenix," he said. Cash's eyes snapped to
the man's face, the may be hope after all. "You have
broken the Tradition of Domain, did your Sire teach
you about the Traditions?" "No, sir," Cash answered
weakly, "after she Embraced me, she left and I haven't
seen here since." Thomas nodded knowingly. "It is
not unusual that the Sire leaves the Childe for a
period to learn on his own. It was just your poor
judgment and bad luck to be caught." Looking a little
thoughtful, he asked, "What was her name?" "Maria,"
Cash replied, "it was in Guatemala City."
Thomas' eyes lit up a bit and he nodded to himself.
"I apologize for your treatment," Thomas said, "but
the Prince wants to be sure you will be present for
her judgment, I was allowed to see you, as the
Primogen, but forbidden to give you Vitae." Cash
looked the man over again, carefully looking for any
sign of deceit, but he was just too exhausted to think
clearly, the man seemed to be acting in his interests,
but he couldn't be sure.
Everything depended on the Prince of Phoenix.
