[Hiram] took a sip from his fresh cocktail.

"Do you have anything new to add?"

"Mmm.. I wish I did," she says after finishing another swallow of her 
drink. "I was contacted initially because of my interest in Tewkesbury's 
work.  It was the one of the main reasons I was asked to look into it.  But 
when I was told about the artifact, I had absolutely nothing to go on. I 
got a description of the item, but that was it. I tried to do some 
following up with some of my export contacts back in Egypt, but none were 
very forthcoming with any information. Rather suspiciously so, if I might 
say so."

She thought for a moment before she continued. "Do I understand it 
correctly that you have initial claim rights to anything found at the 
Tweaksbury dig site?" she asks as plays with the lip of her tulip shaped 
champagne glass.

"That's correct," Hiram said, "though the Egyptian ministry of antiquities
would likely differ on that point."

He took another sip.

"So, if I interpret what you're telling me correctly," he went on, pushing
his glasses back up onto the bridge of his nose, "you know someone who has
this artifact in their possession as we speak?"
