"I've been contracted to do some research on a rather unique item and I am having a devil of a time coming up with any solid information," 'Sandra' begins mysteriously. "I'm hoping you might know something about it. What do you know about a piece cryptically referred to as the 'Hand of the Guardian'?"

She takes a sip of her drink looking for initial reactions on Dr. Lazarus' face as much as his reply.

"I've read a few things in various sources about it," Hiram said, "but nothing concrete" 

He regarded her with a tinge of suspicion now. He had thought that only himself and those who worked at the Tewkesbury dig had any access to this information.

"I'm not quite sure of what it is exactly," he went on, "my resources are fuzzy at best. Though I had recently heard word that the excavations were revealing more."

He took a sip from his fresh cocktail.

"Do you have anything new to add?"
   
  [Sandra]
  "Mmm.. I wish I did," she says after finishing another swallow of her drink. "I was contacted initially because of my interest in Tewkesbury's work.  It was the one of the main reasons I was asked to look into it.  But when I was told about the artifact, I had absolutely nothing to go on. I got a description of the item, but that was it. I tried to do some following up with some of my export contacts back in Egypt, but none were very forthcoming with any information. Rather suspiciously so, if I might say so." 
   
  She thought for a moment before she continued. "Do I understand it correctly that you have initial claim rights to anything found at the Tweaksbury dig site?" she asks as plays with the lip of her tulip shaped champagne glass.
