>"The simple answer to that is ... a man, or woman, on the inside." he sits on the edge of his desk, leaving the path tot he door open.

He wasn't blocking her path, but yet, Hope is compelled to stay and listen to his words.  

>"The Gotham police force is corrupt to the core Hope. These creatures against which we fight have thier pawns all the way tot he top, in every section house and every department. The Mayor, most councilors and the local congressmen, they are all in the Thrall of one would be overlord or another."

His words...they had a ring of truth.  Hope knew far too well that most of the cops in Gotham were corrupt, that she, Brannigan and Gordon were fighting a war that they had slim hopes of winning.  Dusk was a powerful force in Gotham, and now they wanted her to help them?  It made sense on some levels, but on others, it didn't at all.  She should leave, but she also wanted to know more.   

"We are a Noble brigade, based on an order of Knights dedicated to fighting this darkness. Fighting fire with fire in truth. Its time we adapted more tot he tactics of the enemy and had our own agents there to thwart and watch the vile puppets of the adversary!"

A noble group, much like the police force that fought crime.  A force that had practically ostracized her, and left her with little opportunities to fight the good fight.  Dusk, on the other hand was offering a chance to fight the forces of evil.  On the other hand, what they were asking of her, sounded a lot like going to work for the Rat Squad.  

"You already have Millet on your payroll."  Hope says, finally putting the second gun back in her purse.  "Why do you need me?"
