OOC: the following takes place between game days.
It was late Friday night and Eddie was sitting at a
bus stop, waiting. He glanced at his watch again,
wondering where the hell Bobby was. It had been a
long day.
He'd made an appointment with the doctor that
afternoon, concerned about his loss of weight, but
he'd been told he was in superb health. He was losing
weight, gaining muscle, even his vision seemed to be
improving. That morning he'd discovered that he could
see better without his contacts rather than with them.
The doctor had told him to keep working out and eating
healthy, but the thing was he wasn't working out.
What the hell was happening to him?
The lunchtime phone call had been a welcome
distraction. The story on the Rabbi's Poetry wasn't
the only thing he was working on. He'd also been
chasing down a story of drug trafficing and gangs. It
was an old theme that had been beaten to death by
previous reporters, but he thought he had a new twist.
Two of his contacts had dropped hints that perhaps
gangs were beginning to back judicial candidates,
starting up 527 Groups similar to MoveOn.org and the
Swiftboat Vetrans for Justice to influence local
politics. If true, it boded ill for the future of
Riverton.
Bobby had called him this afternoon asking to meet,
though he had sounded weird. Not scared, just . . .
different. Eddie never felt comfortable out doors at
night anymore. He looked around nervously, waiting
for his source.
