Nez, Poe
Uktena, Raven spirit
The Isle of Crabs

"Nah, more likely Mentos," Nez said, distracted.

"I hope the rubber suits are for protection, not for hiding. Not that
it's likely to be much help- Hazmat suits might be a better idea. Hmm, I
wonder if that's true."

Backing down the dune, then standing up, Nez tried to get the worst of
the sand out of her clothing. At least it wasn't raining.

Poe continued to search the ground. "Unless they make them in my size,
let's put that idea aside.... oooo!"

The raven turned his head to eye something shiny in the sand. He hopped
over to it, then circled it excitedly, pausing to look at it from each
angle. "Look at this!"

Nez sighed as she went to check out what Poe had found. From Poe's tone,
she knew he had made another shiny discovery. It was probably a piece of
broken glass- it was almost always a piece of broken glass.

Crouching down to see better, Nez watched as Poe carefully excavated his
new treasure, then placed it down on the sand. It was a piece of glass.
Big surprise.

Seeing that Nez was not very excited about his discover, Poe insisted,
"No, look at it from this angle. Over here. See how the sun reflects off
the point here? And there's a row of little glass barbs right next to
it. If you look really close, you can see tiny reflections of each one.
Look."

Nez circled around to where Poe was and knelt in the sand to get a
closer look at the piece of glass. She didn't understand Poe's
preoccupation with glass and the beauty and complexity he claimed to
find there, but he didn't understand why she'd spend hours studying an
old bone or sit around watching people come and go from a particular
building. They had an unspoken compromise; each pretended to have at
least a little interest in what the other was doing.

"Oh yeah," Nez said. "That's nice. Do you want me to hang onto it for you?"

"No, it's fragile. I'll hold onto it." Poe picked up the glass with his
beak.

Nez was still thinking about the boat and what it was dumping into the
bay. "I think we need to check this out on the other side. Let's see if
we can find Korben and Chester. They'll want to see this too."

Heading back to the place they had made camp, Nez started looking for
the other two Garou.
