Mara smiles at the unsolicited compliment.  She had chosen well it seemed, a gown with spaghetti straps that showed her pale pale and unblemished skin, a deep see-through v of black fabric that exposed her cleavage, also accentuated by black ribbons forming an 'x' across it, and a skirt that allowed the barest glimpse of her feet, a dress both sexy and modest at the same time.  

>May I introduce Chloe van der Kamp ... " he pasued as they all made thier nods and hello's, his attention strayed up the stairway to the prince. "If I were in a less forgiving mood I might berate you Crosby, you gazumped me on that bid for Virtual dark shares. But then i can see now why you might be interested in Guiness' old company!"

Mara raises an eyebrow.  Virtual Dark had been up for sale?  Funny that she hadn't heard of it.  And Crosby had beat out the Malkavian?  Hmm...all the more reason to align herself with the Ventrue.

>"It is in all our interests to keep Guiness legacy inthe family Christoper." Crosby replies with a smile. 

Of the four, Mara is the only one that now is not smiling.   Keeping it in the family, certainly, but really, shouldn't one of Guiness' own family been given a chance at it?

>"But I hadn't realised I was bidding against you, I am sure we can come to some mutuale arangement. Those parts of his domain that interest yourself are not really my thing, I'm no banker at heart."

Neither was she, but then again, some of that 'domain' should shift to the new Brujah Primogen, whoever it might be.  The Prince should not have allowed this wholesale 'looting' of Guiness' domain and influence.  But that was something for the new Clan Primogen to bring up.  All the more reason to try to get the Prince to make a speedy decision.

>"Very good of you old man, We'll have to get togetehr and talk monopoly money some time soon. Sometime when neither of us has such delightful company on our arms hmmm?"

>"Indeed!" Crosby said simply. "Indeed."

Mara purses her lips tightly.  She wasn't sure which to be more pissed at;  Christophe for his crass implication that women were not fit to discuss financial matters, or Crosby for agreeing, even while he was escorting her.

>"Indeed my dear," Crosby replies. "If you will excuse us Christoper, Miss van der Kamp." he leads Mara away and heads towards the next landing.

Mara offers Christophe an insincere smile, but a more genuine one to the lady, who she had no issues with.  As they walk away, Mara whispers again to Crosby.  "I would be interested in purchasing a portion of those shares in Virtual Dark.  Nothing significant to affect voting of course, simply a remembrance of a fallen relative."  If she could really call him a relative.  He seemed more Ventrue than Brujah, and she wasn't exactly sad that he was dead, but she wasn't about to let a Ventrue see her disdain for the former Primogen.
