<< "What do you feel?"
he turned and looked at her fully. His deep blue eyes peered right into hers
for a long lingering moment.
"Fear!" he said with an almost inaudible sigh. "Fear that we are facing a
foe I cannot hope to defeat no matter how strong my arms or stout my heart. Fear
that those I have sworn to protect may not be able to sleep in complete
assurance. fear that the new feelings I am having won't have a chance to develope
..." he turned away. Was that a blush?
Her smile came naturally but it was also mutted because of the seriousness
with which he spoke. She placed her hand on his chest over his heart not saying
anything. It was as if she were speaking though, telling him that it wouldn't
be his fault even if worse came to worse, that even if they didn't win HE
would be good enough and not just adequate better than that. And that he wasn't
the only one responsible for fighting off whatever it was out there. He was not
the sole protector and defender even if his troll mind and oath told him he
was. Perhaps he didn't want to hear it but her touch, her entire being
communitacted it anyway.
"There is a young Eshu, a Girl named Sakura. She has known both courts in
her lives. Perhaps you and she ..."
>>
Her hands slowly slipped away as he continued to speak. She nodded.
"tonight? tomorrow? and where do I...? I could probably still find those guys
tonight too but I..."
She clearly wasn't finished but...
She wanted so badly to wrap her arms around him to kiss him to hold him just
for a few moments but she didn't. Their relationship hadn't reached that stage
where she had permission to do those sorts of things. The funny thing is if
he had simply been a friend and there hadn't been that certain tension between
them she would have done exactly what she was feeling immediately. She would
have wrapped her arms aorund him and held him close to her at least for a
moment even if she had only known him a few days or a few hours for that matter.
after a moment she continued,
"I... I don't really know what I'm doing when it comes to this stuff Malone.
I've always had... well, different adventures then this sort of thing."
She stopped and smiled impishly remebering something.
"I guess a little more haphazard than is right for this."
She looked up at him again. She really did need his help. She needed his
direction and was willing to take it one of the few times in her life that could
be said.
