John extracted himself from Abby and Morgan and went
to the bar. He was curious. The girl had zeroed in
on Morgan, whatever he was, and he couldn't help but
notice something passing between the two of them.
He had no clue what it really was, recognition of
kindred spirits, love or lust at first sight, or
perhaps something more. Nevertheless, he wanted to
give them a moment alone to speak when he wasn't
around.
John wasn't concerned about what secrets might pass,
or promises between them. If he needed to know, Abby
will hopefully tell him, and he was old enough where
concerns over such matters were trivial in the grand
scheme of things.
Besides, he was here to have fun, a night out for two
gods walking amongst mortal and party the way they had
in the past. Gods. It was a term he almost never
used.
Last time was during the Turkish invasion of Europe in
1529, a war which most historians though of as a clash
of civilizations. It had really been over the city of
Venice, and the beer produced in a pub there. He
laughed at the though of he and Matt, each rewarded
for their efforts with on glass of the Dark, a beer
like no other, that had set the world on fire.
John approached the bar and ordered a beer for
himself and drinks for his companion and their new
friend. Balancing all three on his hands, he slowly
made his way back to the group, noting the newcomers
as they entered.
His eyes passed over Mara, Aurora, and their
companions. They lingered long enough as he tagged
each one of them as human or other (Perception +
Awareness = 6), making it obvious to the new arrivals
that he knew what they were, but without being
threatening.
