Hope reaches into her inner reserves, trying to get a handle on her fear. She turns her gaze to stare at the picture of St. George and the Dragon, looking for some measure of calm. Not a knight, but a squire. She mutters quietly. (Courage 4) Her courage returns, and she manages to get out a few words. "Do I have a real choice at this point?" Was death her only other choice?

"Not a great deal!" the girl replied in her emotionless way.

"In our place, would you let you walk out knowing what you know?" The Man asked. "We watched you for a while, the offer isn't speculative, we assumed you would want what we offer and the alternative would never be brought up."

"But it is the alternative!" She finished for him.
