1017 Market Street
Neon City
Mara, Christine
Brujah, Ex Ghoul

"The Temple of the Five Dragons? It's where I'm staying at the
moment," Christine volunteers. "Until I work out what's going on with
me and all. I think it's friendly and reasonably safe. For the moment."

Mara wasn't real familiar with the Temple. Guess she'd have to do some research on the place. She wanted to make sure Christine was safe, even if they weren't still together.

>Christine acquiesces easily enough to Mara's determination to drive
and for once is grateful that Mara doesn't really do small talk.
Christine watches the neon-lit streets blur into the drab and shadowy
alleyways of Lowrentsville, skimming the wasted edge of Cardboard
City. There are a few things she should maybe have told Mara about
her recent activities but in all honesty, Christine is not ready to
confide in anyone except Aurora yet. It would makes her sound crazy
- make that crazier - for one. However, sooner or later, Mara *will*
need to know.

Mara was surprised that Christine caved so quickly on the driving. That, sometimes had been a point of contention between them. As they drive on, Mara glances occasionally at Christinebut says very little. Theirs was often an unspoken communication, but says very little. Theirs was often an unspoken communication.

China Town in Gotham wasn't all that different from China Town in Seattle.
And that in itself brought comfort, and also a sense of loss. She missed the Emerald City, and the cheery paper lanterns reminded her of what she had left behind.

As Mara pulls up, Christine turns to her, her face puckered with
sudden concern. "I don't know whether I'm allowed to invite you in,"
she says. "Won't take me long to change but . . . shit! Seems awful
to ask you to stay out here." Christine thinks about this, frowning.
Then, "The hell with that!" she says, decisively. Christine opens the
car door and swings one leg out. She turns back to Mara. "Coming in?"
she asks.

Mara pulls her car underneath a street light. Fortunately, the ones around the temple were still working. Activating her Auspex, she checks around the vicinity. She didn't want to be outdoors in China Town for any length of time. She really needed to talk to Ash, see if he could arrange a safe pass for her to go back into Cardboard City.

Mara gets out of the car and then locks it. She starts to walk into the Temple, following behind Christine, who seemed to know where she was going. Perhaps on the way to Crosby's she'll ask her about Bellamy and the Church. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.

OOC: Also . . . possible heads up for ST (s) . . . what *is* the
protocol/penalty for inviting Vampires into Mage Chantries and/or
into the Temple specifically? Christine Clueless wouldn't know and
must admit it's a first for me as a Mage player too :-P

Heh, well, Vampires aren't subject to the being invited in mythology. However, since the Chantry's Node is sentient, that may add a different thing to the mix.

OOC1: Going to be mostly afk until Sunday night :-)
