Mara smiles as she watches Christine relax.  She was an expert at reading body language, and she is pleased to know that Christine had backed down...for the moment.  

>"Yeah. And I'm sure you'll do it with style. You look great, by the  
way."  Christine's gaze flickers quickly away from Mara.  Change the  
subject, Christine.

>"Who are you going with?" As soon as the question is out, Christine recognises that it isn't any of her damn business. She flashes a wicked grin at her former employer/lover/domitor. "Or are you going to take the Fifth on that?"

Mara smiles broadly, a friendly one, without fangs.  "You could say I'm consorting with the enemy again."  Mara replies.  "But if you really want to know, why don't you come with me?  I'm sure he wouldn't mind attending the party in the company of two lovely ladies."

Mara lifts up a finger.  "The only thing I ask is that you play nice while you're in his company, and remember the rules I told you about, because he's a staunch believer in them."  She hopes that Christine does remember the rules, because to allow Christine to be in the presence of another vampire as a former Ghoul was to play a most deadly game with both of their lives.  

Mara then just as quickly amends her conditions.  "Oh, and one more thing, I’m driving."
