> "Ahh, yes," he said, "these come from the temple of
> Par Bast, and date from
> Egypt's third dynasty. Specifically the reign of the
> Pharoh Djoser, roughly
> cira 2800 B.C." He looked back to John. "Some of the
> most intact pieces
> found from that period."

John nodded. The pieces were almost twice as old as
he was, which should have been a humbling experience.
Truth was that years were a lot like money; when you
accumulated enough they just didn't matter anymore.

Still, someone had taken the time to actually create
the items. "Can't help wondering about the owner, who
he was. Not his title or duties, but what was he
like. Generous? Greedy? Was he married?" He
shrugged.

"Fun is in the details."
