[Sodium_noir] A Hill of Beans [Raindogs]

>Hope takes out her cell phone and dials 911.  She composes what she would say while it rings.  Six rings.  Unacceptable. "911 What's your emergency?" Hope takes a breath.  She wasn't calling as a police officer, but as a civilian. "Yes, I'm in Neon City.  There's a man on the ground and he's in need of medical assistance."  

>"Where are you currently located?"  

>Hope remembers that the 911 system can't pinpoint the location of a cell phone.  

>"I'm near Raindogs."  She replies.   

As Hope, Officer Zagowski, finishes answering the string of pointless questions, Malone stands his ground. Benny the ball continues to advance and Hope can see from his stance that he's obviously spent some time in the ring, or maybe on the street bare-knuckle boxing. The other two are hanging back, neither seems to be packing. This crew were old fashioned, if they had guns they were probably back in the car or at least in ankle holsters. 

Malone sighs. The sound is full of frustration and disappointment. Like a tired father with a naughty child. 

Benny laughs once as he lunges forward, the sock swings up in an arc. 

Malone moves so fast it almost takes her breathe away. Benny, it seems, wasn't the only one who'd boxed. The first strike, open hand, hits him under the arm and forces Benny to drop the weapon. The second strikes the solar plexus and knocks the wind from him and the third lands dead centre of the chest as an after thought. sending the thug backwards to land in a pile of wet stinking garbage.

He didn't even drop the torch.
