At St. Bridgett's, after 1 a.m.

> "Did Peter say what was in the package? Or why he was giving it to me?" she asks Bellamy, curious and a little wary. 

"He said you would understand and little more." Bellamy explains as he leads them to the vestry. "I am afraid that Peter likes to play games with people, and the game he liked to play with me is temptation. By bringing over something in a closed box and acting mysterious, he is testing my curiosity. Testing to see whether I trusted him with someone in your current position if if I would check." They reach a door from which the light source shines from and he helps Tom into a chair. "Peter wants me to doubt him, to open the box and to prove that he is untrustworthy. That way his own negative opinion of himself would be vindicated."

Fishing a bottle of Whisky and a few glasses from a drawer he begins to pour each of them a fortifying drink. As he does so he nods towards a black box on the table wrapped in a bright red bow. 

"As you can see, I managed to resist ..." he hands Tom a drink. " .... but only just!"
