hear the whole thing, actually.

Brujah, Mortal
Dusk, Map room
> They finally reach the door to the Map Room. Dragons.
> Christine had mentioned them earlier. She takes careful note
> of the color of the dragon symbols. Red or black, which side
were they on?
Red, deep red. The Dragon looked back over its shoulder and
above and behind it was a Cross with a double horizontal bar.
> Mara bows her head slightly. "Good evening." She replied.
> Correction was not her intent, but it was said more out of
habit,
> a greeting always offered in Seattle between Kindred, no
matter
> what time it was. Carefully, she moves to the chair, and

Christophe: How are the Camarilla's investigations going?
Leon: They are not my Lord, it appears that they have stalled for now. The
three investigators are unable to work together with any coherence and
Crosby has gone as far as his resources will allow. I fear they may turn
from investigation to blame before sunrise.
Christophe: And you have taken steps to alleviate this?
Leon: I have done what I can My Lord. One of the Anubi will be able to
ascertain that Guinness was killed for his Computer access only and that
should free them up to focus on the other killings I hope.
Christophe: Keep a close eye on that situation my Vassal, the Camarilla are
in a vary precarious position right now, we do not want them to crumble
while the sabbat are so ready to strike. And, about that, any word?
Leon: I could find very little my Lord. There is indeed a new player in
town, some Priest and a roving Pack of warriors. I believe they have come to
test the Bishops resolve and his grip on the city. Santiago may well do as
you foresaw and commit greater troops tot he streets. There have been no
signs of that as yet, but if he is to prove his dominance, there is little
doubt it will be the mortals who suffer.
Christophe: We can only lesson the impact Mikhail, it is the lot of the
Human to suffer the predation of the Beast. And what of the Bishops favoured
one, the Templar?
Leon: Titus Bane and his pack are gathered at the Harlequins club my Lord,
meeting with their new vassals. He has stamped his presence on the
underworld of Chinatown with his usual firm hand, we shall wait and see what
result that draws.
Christophe: You have eyes in Chinatown still? The fall of the old Khan did
not damage your operation?
Leon: It did my Lord, there were many deaths as the Old Khan fell. But I
still have a presence in the borough and I will rebuild my network. Perhaps
I might be allowed to take one of the children and ...
> seat offered. For now, she will be polite.
Christophe takes Leon aside and the two talk in an easy hush.
Mara catches snippets, a field report on the nights activities
in the city it seems. From what is revealed, Mara guesses that
Leon is the lieutenant in a larger organisation. He couldn't
remain so well informed on minor trivialities if he was acting
alone.
Christophe: A boy Mikhail, take a son with a little fire in his veins and
give him the opportunity to prove himself. Do not let your vigilance falter
though, the Sons of the Basarab are our legacy and our treasure, never a
resource!
Leon: Indeed, my Lord.
The Human bowed low and backed away towards the door. Christophe appeared
lost in thought for the moment.
>Mara turns her full attention back to Zoë. "Domestic violence is the
proper term." She replies. "I donate to W.E.A.V.E. on a regular basis.
Legal Services of Seattle, however is a non-profit, so a great majority of
our work, no matter what sort of case it is, is done pro bono or at a very
low cost. I plan to run Gotham Legal Services no differently." She smiles
at Zoë. Then again, She thinks to herself, you probably already knew that.
"A most noble endeavour!" She says very matter of fact. "A worthy use of
your families money and influence, and of the gift you have been given. In
these days of commercialism and greed with the fires of faith extinguished,
such action by one of the Deathless is unusual."
"Indeed sister" Christophe adds as he strides over. "But none of your
business really. You must forgive my Sister Mara, she has a head for data
and facts, for words rather than for people. A few centuries hidden in a
dusty library tends to atrophy the social skills a little."
"Atrophy? And what word would you have used if this Book worm hadn't taught
you to read Christophe? A Shame you never stray outside of the shelves of
biographies and tactics."
"To each his Dharma!" Christophe takes a seat from another table and drags
it loudly towards them. "So ... Mara, tell me about your association with
Melcom. What's the story there?" His broad smile never falters. Zoë turns
her piercing gaze on their guest as well.
