As the Scarab watched Bastette sail through the window and let go of his 
whip, he also noticed that he was now completely surrounded.

He drew his whip back sharply, ensnaring one of the multitude of Iblis 
workers by the neck as he did. With another hard jerk the man lifted into 
the air, and the Scarab swung the man's body around himself, cutting a 
swath in the crowd all around him. Then with a final motion, the Scarab 
flung the man toward the office stairs, leaving an open corridor which he 
ran through.

As the crowd recovered they started after him again. They closed in, 
clawing at him as he ran. The scarab took two more running steps, then 
leapt for the office door. Intending on making another "shattering" 
appearance...
