OOC: This is a joint post

Mara Ravenclaw, Cash
Brujah, Gangrel
Pike Street Market
Seattle, about 2 and a half years ago

Cash pulled up in front of the market. Pulling his
bike over to the curb, he swung his long leg over the
back of the bike and stood for a moment looking over
the building. Even at this time of night, the place
was a hub >of activity, though the open air vendors
were packing it in for the night.

"So this is the famous Pike Street Market," he said to
himself under his breath. Maria, his Sire had
"dismissed" him earlier to meet with other Kindred,
leaving him on his own for the night. Seeing the
brightly lit window of the Starbucks Cafe, he went
toward it and entered.

The crowd was a mixed bag of business types, grunge
rockers and college students - all sipping their
lattes and either reading the newspapers that are so
common in this type of place or talking together at
small tables. One woman seemed a bit out of place
though. She was a business type, judging by the laptop
she was working on, but she was wearing a dark grey
long sleeved knit top with a black starburst design
and black jeans. A black leather blazer was draped
over the chair she occupied. Her coffee cup with its
familiar green logo sat a fair distance away from her
keyboard, and she seemed to be ignoring it.

Mara sits at the table, her coffee strategically
placed across from her, as if someone was sitting
across from her. She was waiting for her Mentor to
show. She'd gotten to pick the meeting place this
time, so she'd picked one of her favorite mortal
hangouts, the Pike Place Market, and more
specifically, the original Starbucks store. It was a
great place to people watch, or even people hunt.

She works on the laptop, composing her latest email to
her associates. There were motions to file, people to
see and letters to be prepared. Legal Services of
Seattle didn't have a secretary, so most of the
paperwork fell to her. But then again, she'd gotten
the non-profit firm going. On the taskbar, another
document sat waiting silently. The latest grant
application for LSS.

Mara stares at the screen intently, and finally after
a few last furious keystrokes, hits send. A little
paper airplane appears at the top of the screen, and
the Outlook message is away. She watches it go, then
with a sigh, her attention turns toward the waiting
document.

Cash looked at the woman with more care, to his
enhanced senses, he could see that she wasn't
breathing, marking her as 'one of us.' Her clan wasn't
clear, her dress suggested Ventrue, as did the
computer, but even he had dressed up to meet a Prince
with Maria, so he couldn't tell. Spying an empty table
with a good view of the room, and the mystery woman,
Cash settled down into it.

Sitting back into the chair, he propped up his booted
feet onto another chair, ignoring the disapproving
look directed at him by a green-shirted employee.
Deciding not to look too out of place, Cash sauntered
over to the counter and ordered a 'large' coffee - a
large being the smallest size they had. Returning to
his original position, he warmed his hands with the
drink for a while, covertly observing the woman.
