St Bridgets
Tom Kaurismaki, Christine McAbee
Dreamspeaker, Orphan

[Tom]
Tom glanced around the interior of the church once
more as he continued knock on the door, his quiet
knock turning into an impromptu, two-handed, lightly
slapped beat as soon as his attention drifted over to
peering at Christine again.

[Christine]
Christine looks warily at the stranger at the altar.
It's a little late for religious observance, even for
the strictest Catholic. She has noted the shades and
the weird light they project. Night vision goggles?
What's that all about? Serial Killer chic? Christine
does find this oddity rather disturbing but then there
is the pet perched comfortably around the stranger's
shoulders - a ferret, it looks like. For some reason
that reassures her. Aren't animals supposed to have
good instincts when it comes to people?

Whatever. This guy doesn't look like one of Father
Bellamy's 'clients' but he does seems to be looking
for the priest. Friend or foe, Christine wonders.
Bellamy is a man of God, true, but he is currently
engaged in a battle with City Hall. A venomous battle
which is making him some powerful enemies. Christine
feels cold, suddenly. Maybe not 'serial killer' then,
but 'hitman' is looking like a possibility.

She watches as the stranger taps lightly, flippantly
on the door, catching his wandering gaze as she
lingers, indecisive.

"Hi." Christine speaks quietly, not wanting to disturb
the sleepers. She approaches the stranger, stops out
of arm's reach. "Christine," she adds by way of an
introduction, both her hands thrust into her jacket
pockets. "Looking for Father Bellamy? Bit late isn't
it? I know there's not supposed to be any rest for the
Wicked but don't the Righteous get cut a break from
time to time?"

She is gabbling but trying to keep her tone light.
However, she can't keep her eyes from shifting
nervously, betraying her suspicion.

>Oh, and great description of panic and her attraction
btw. :)

Thankyou :-) I can't think of a suitable male
equivalent for 'femme fatale' but Panic fits that
bill, I guess ;-)
